THE YARD: LOWER EAST SIDE LAUNCHES ON JUNE 3
Private Office + Coworking Collective Introduces its First Manhattan Location
85 Delancey Street at Orchard
www.WorkAtTheYard.com
New York, NY — The Yard, a collective of private office suites and coworking community, will open its first Manhattan location at 85 Delancey Street in the heart of the Lower East Side on June 3. Designed to inspire creativity, collaboration, and connections for evolving businesses, The Yard Lower East Side joins the flagship location in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, in an expansion to serve downtown NYC small business. The new space will house offices for 300+ people across two floors, with plans for an expansive open-air roof deck slated to open for members in August. The rooftop space will include enclosed private offices and event space.

The concept of The Yard takes turnkey, month-to-month office space to a high aesthetic level with design by award-winning architect David Bers, including 60 private offices, two coworking spaces, state of the art conference rooms, shared lounge and kitchen areas, rotating installations by local artists, and business resources including educational workshops. The ground floor entrance will include a street-facing cafe that is open to the public that will open later this year.
Private offices range in size from one- to eight-person suites starting at $550 per month, and come furnished with white desks, ergonomic chairs, desk lamps, and lockable storage. Offices of four or more desks also include a flat-screen television/monitor. Coworking and virtual office options are also available. All memberships are month-to-month, allowing businesses to grow into larger spaces within the building at their own pace.
The Yard enters the Lower East Side as the only office space option of its kind and scale in the area. Located two blocks from the Delancey/Essex subway station and just blocks from additional stations and the Williamsburg Bridge, The Yard is an affordable, turnkey option for small and growing businesses throughout the tri-state area.
The first location of The Yard launched in November 2011 at 33 Nassau Avenue on the border of Williamsburg and Greenpoint in Brooklyn. The new location marks The Yard’s expansion into Manhattan, with additional locations planned for 2013-14 by owners Richard Beyda and Morris Levy.

Dear Members and Friends,

Today The NY Times published a story that read YouTube will soon announce a plan to allow some video makers to charge a monthly subscription. You don’t have to be a soothsayer to know there’s money in YouTube videos. Just ask The Yard’s members INDMUSIC, who were recently profiled in Billboard magazine.  Not a bad photo, maybe a new LinkedIn profile image?

Are you on LinkedIn? Entrepreneur.com gives us 10 tips to get the most out of LinkedIn.  And in two weeks, here at The Yard, we’re hosting a free event featuring 10 Simple Apps to Streamline Your Work (And Your Life).

And this week we have two special events. On Tuesday, May 7th, we are hosting a film screening, curating by Yard members Vyer Films.  This film is the first installment of a highly acclaimed series called “Extraordinary Stories”. For this free event, we’ll have popcorn and beer provided by the Brooklyn Brewery. Please RSVP here.

And on Friday, May 10th, as part of the Williamsburg 2nd Friday Art Walk and the premier of the Greenpoint Gallery Night, The Yard presents ENTRIPPY, a series of interactive parade paintings by Drew Morrison.

Our full calendar of events is detailed below.  And save the date: on May 23rd The Yard will open its doors as a participant in OpenCo.

See you at The Yard!
