Oh, and Google is taking over the world, but you already knew that. In other news, The Yard’s Lower East Side location is almost done! We’re now accepting applications and will be open for June 1st.
At The Yard’s Brooklyn location last week we hosted the opening reception for ENTRIPPY, a series of interactive parade paintings by Drew Morrison. Be sure to check out his website and newsletter! And you can see some photos from the event here.
Next Wednesday, please do stop by The Yard as we’ll be participating in the first ever OpenCo. NYC event that morning. And we have another free event that evening.

Today The NY Times published a story that read YouTube will soon announce a plan to allow some video makers to charge a monthly subscription. You don’t have to be a soothsayer to know there’s money in YouTube videos. Just ask The Yard’s members INDMUSIC, who were recently profiled in Billboard magazine. Not a bad photo, maybe a new LinkedIn profile image?
Are you on LinkedIn? Entrepreneur.com gives us 10 tips to get the most out of LinkedIn. And in two weeks, here at The Yard, we’re hosting a free event featuring 10 Simple Apps to Streamline Your Work (And Your Life).
And this week we have two special events. On Tuesday, May 7th, we are hosting a film screening, curating by Yard members Vyer Films. This film is the first installment of a highly acclaimed series called “Extraordinary Stories”. For this free event, we’ll have popcorn and beer provided by the Brooklyn Brewery. Please RSVP here.
And on Friday, May 10th, as part of the Williamsburg 2nd Friday Art Walk and the premier of the Greenpoint Gallery Night, The Yard presents ENTRIPPY, a series of interactive parade paintings by Drew Morrison.
